Individual, Group and Organisation
Our focus is set on the transformation of work which we examine from an individual, group and organizational perspective.
Work plays a central role in life. Commonly, it is vital for assuring one’s living but besides that it also impacts the identity, well-being and satisfaction of individuals. To approach the challenges of our fast-changing work environment, it is inevitable to combine the strength of individuals in form of teams and organizations.
In this field of research our focus is set on the transformation of work which we examine from an individual, group and organizational perspective. The questions we address are, for instance, the following: "How does remote work impact employees’ well-being and effectiveness?", "How can leaders influence the resilience of their entire workgroup?" or "Why should organizations invest in a health-promoting work environment?" These as well as further questions are studied within interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research teams which use various methodological approaches. These approaches include for example questionnaire-based studies, especially longitudinal and diary studies, experiments, behavioral observations, psychophysiological measurements, focus groups or interviews.
Overall, the insights gained from the research field "Individual, Group and Organization" contribute to a better understanding and more precise prediction of how societal, technological and demographic change influences working conditions and job demands. Moreover, these insights provide the grounds when it comes to consulting individuals, groups and organizations on the question how to meet new challenges at work.
